Coffee Book Tag

Yes! Another tag. I quite like this one. Even if I am slowly cutting back on the coffee. Hot coffee at least…

I saw the questions on JesseTheReader’s channel in a video which you can watch HERE!

And onto the questions!

BLACK: Name a series that’s tough to get into but has hardcore fans.

I don’t often read series! The first that comes to mind though is Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter world. There’s a lot of books set within the Shadowhunter world, loads that have already been published with two more series to still be published, it can seem quite daunting.

PEPPERMINT MOCHA: Name a book that gets more popular during the winter time or a festive time of year.

Definitely A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. It’s a short classic and it’s the perfect setting for Christmas! Although I’ve yet to pick it up, I’m sure I will do eventually.

HOT CHOCOLATE: What is your favourite children’s book?

I haven’t read many middle grade/9-12 books in recent years but when I was around that age I absolutely adored Jacqueline Wilson. She’s definitely the British Queen of children’s books. Her books tackled such a range of topics and she did so in a sensitive and informative way. I really loved Vicky Angel, The Bed & Breakfast Star and The Diamond Girls when I was growing up.

DOUBLE SHOT OF ESPRESSO: Name a book that kept you on the edge of your seat from start to finish.

I have a few books for this one. All The Rage by Courtney Summers. More Than This by Patrick Ness & Asking For It by Louise O’Neill. All three of these books had such an intense atmosphere that I always felt like something wasn’t quite right. So much so I had to find out what was going to happen and I couldn’t stop myself from reading.

STARBUCKS: A book you see everywhere

A Little Life by Hanya Yanigahara. I’ve never heard of a book that has divided so much opinion in the book world. A Little Life was nominated for the Man Booker prize. It is also currently a finalist for the Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction. And while on one hand it has much critical acclaim. On the other, there are reviewers and readers that absolutely despised the book. And a book that has divided so many people and their opinion’s on it, I’ve been really back and forth about picking it up!

HIPSTER COFFEE SHOP: Give a book by an indie author a shoutout.

Now, she’s not an indie author but I do think she’s incredibly underrated. And the book I chose to shoutout is Mind Your Head by Juno Dawson. Mind Your Head is the ultimate guide to minding and learning about mental health. It’s very informative and I think a lot of people can really learn from it. I talked about the book in a post which you can read HERE

DECAF: A book you were expecting more from

Pride & Prejudice. Yep. I’m in that boat.

PERFECT BLEND: Name a book or series that was both bitter and sweet but ultimately satisfying.

Remix by Non Pratt. It’s a really great book set at a festival and is a story about a friendship between the two main characters Ruby and Kaz. It has lots of sweet moments and also has lots of bitter moments. But I quite liked the ending. And I flew through the book.

I tag Stefanie at yourdaughtersbookshelf and Shannon at Clockwork Bibliophile.

And I also tag my friend Olivia at rewritethissstory.com because 1) she’s fab and 2) this is a picture of us with our friend Jade in a cafe where we drank coffee so I figured it was fitting.

Great answers for this post. Book tags are so fun. I also did this one in the past. I discovered a lot of new books from reading your answers. Remix sounds pretty interesting, so I’m going to check that one out.

I can pass you a link to my book tag answers if you want. I didn’t wanna do it right off the bat cause it just feels odd to do that. If that makes sense. haha. You girls look great in that photo as well. The cafe looks pretty busy. I wish my city had more cafes for me to visit.
