No, that P in the title isn’t a typo. Today I’m bringing you a preview of Tiny Dynamite that will be running at the Old Red Lion Theatre from the 9th January to the 3rd February 2018. The play is written by acclaimed playwright and screenwriter Abi Morgan. Her previous credits on the big screen include The Iron Lady, The Invisible Woman and Suffragette. However, my favourite work of hers is a television series called The Hour which aired on the BBC back in 2011-2012, an excellently, well written show about best friends who work in a newsroom at the BBC in the 50’s. So I was super excited to hear about one of Abi Morgan’s plays was coming back to London and, as a bonus, is going to be playing in a theatre not too far from me.
Tiny Dynamite is about two childhood friends whose experience of a traumatic event from their past continue to impact their life to the point where they are unable to move on. However, on a trip to the countryside they meet a stranger who threatens to uncover a secret the pair thought they had buried a long time ago.
This is the first revival of the show since it premiered back in 2001. This production will be directed by David Loumgair and features a cast which includes Niall Bishop. The play opens at the Old Red Lion Theatre in Islington on the 9th January. If a mix of a psychological thriller, a ghost tale and a love story sounds right up your street then you can find tickets and more information at http://www.oldredliontheatre.co.uk/tiny-dynamite.html
Until next time,
