2019 Olivier Awards Nomination Predictions – Acting Categories

It’s almost that time of year, folks! Awards season is when I truly thrive. Especially if it’s theatre related. With the 2019 Olivier Award nominations being released on March 5th, I thought I would get my predictions out, like I did last year! Although last year, I tried to predict the winners at the same time. This year I’ll do a separate post on who I think will win once the official nominations have been announced.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see everything that qualifies in this award year but I’ve tried my best to include critical/audience acclaim into my choices too.

Best Actress In A Play

Best Actor In a Play

Best Supporting Actor In A Play

– Paul Hilton for The Inheritance
– Andrew Burnap for The Inheritance
– Paapa Essiedu for The Convert
– Kier Charles for Quiz

Best Supporting Actress In A Play

– Cecilia Noble for Nine Night
– Kirsty Bushell for King Lear
– Vanessa Redgrave for The Inheritance
– Lily James for All About Eve

Best Actress In a Musical

– Rosalie Craig for Company
– Sharon D Clarke for Caroline, or Change
– Kelli O’Hara for The King and I
– Adrienne Warren for Tina: The Tina Turner Musical

Best Actor In A Musical

– Ken Watanabe for The King and I
– Clive Carter for Come From Away

Best Supporting Actress In A Musical
